For my 'Research and Experimentation' module in my final year, I decided to research into Graphic novels, character development and countless illustrators who dedicate their careers to world building. This short scene is a snippet of the novel I have been writing for a couple years now. What was a form of escape for me became a massive part of my creative identity. These characters are a huge part of my journey as a creative, they have given me the opportunity to delve into a world that gave me refuge during a challenging period of life.
Having the ability to bring these characters to life through my artwork has been one of the most amazing experiences of my time as an illustrator so far. They no longer just exist as words, but as living breathing illustrations.
